Okay, first things first, because I know you’re going to scroll down for this part if I don’t put it at the top…

THE COVER REVEAL

I was originally going to wait a month or two before I revealed the cover art, but WHO AM I KIDDING I can’t wait that long and torture you guys in the process. SO HERE IT IS!!

May I present…
THE COVER:

YES, THERE ARE WAFFLES ON THE FRONT COVER. Because I couldn’t publish my first book and not put waffles on the front cover, you know?

And in case you’re wondering, YES I MADE THIS COVER ART ALL ON MY OWN. Isn’t it pretty?? It’s so YELLOW I’m kind of in love with it. So if you need some more yellow books for your shelves (or your instagram feed *wink wink*) 100 Days of Sunlight is going to fit nicely into your bookish life.

Or if you’re into ebooks and you want to call dibs on your very own copy…
THE EBOOK IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR PREORDER!

But if you don’t want to wait until August 7th to devour this book…

LET’S TALK ARC READING.

How to be an ARC reader of 100 Days of Sunlight

Do you want to be an ARC reader for 100 Days of Sunlight??? If you have no idea what this means, let me give you a quick intro: an advanced reader copy of a book is basically a free copy of the book that a publisher, or in this case, the author, will give to individuals who are interested in reading and reviewing the book before it is published on the mass market. ARC reviews are especially important for indie authors such as myself, because we don’t have a big publishing company or a publicist getting the word out about our books.

Which means I need you.

Is ARC-reading is the same thing as beta-reading?

No. Beta reading happens early on in the process of writing a novel, when you’re still looking for feedback and story elements to improve. ARC-reading happens pre-publication, but after the book is all ready to be distributed (save a few renegade typos.) ARC readers are given a free copy of a book in exchange for an honest book review on GoodReads or Amazon (and, if you have one, your blog.)

So if that sounds like something you’re into, HERE’S HOW YOU JOIN THE TEAM:

Go to netgalley.com/pub/abbieemmons

If you’re used to this advanced reading thing, you know all about NetGalley. Basically, NetGalley is an ARC machine that lets you request to read my book and lets me look at your profile and get an idea of where you’re going to post your honest review of my book. The more places you post your review and talk about my book, the more likely your request will be accepted and you’ll get to read the book pre-publication. Makes sense, right?

“But I don’t have NetGalley.”

No worries! You can sign up! NetGalley is a 100% free and super user-friendly website that will make this exchanging-book process so much easier for both of us — and it takes literally two minutes to create an account. In fact, I filmed a quick tutorial just to show you how easy and fast it is!! HERE:

So there, what’s your excuse now?? Go to netgalley.com/pub/abbieemmons and request to advance-read my book.

What am I going to expect from my ARC readers?

I’m going to want you to post your review on GoodReads before July 31st. I would ask you to post your review on Amazon as well, but Amazon is not an indie’s best friend and one of the things they don’t allow is reviews to be posted on a book’s page before the book is published.

But that’s okay, because we have GoodReads. (And your blog, if you have one!)

So I’ll want you to post your review on the book’s GoodReads page before the book is released which means BEFORE AUGUST!! And here’s some extra fun incentive for you:

When you post your review on GoodReads (and your blog if you have one) before July 31st, you’ll be automatically entered into a special ARC-READER-ONLY GIVEAWAY! I’m going to be giving away three beautiful signed and personalized paperback copies of 100 Days of Sunlight to three lucky ARC readers who post their reviews before July 31st.

Wondering about the content?

This book is rated PG (ages 12+) but if you’re concerned about the content, I recommend you read the content guide before signing up to ARC-read.

If you go to Netgalley and request to read my book, please give me a few days to review all the entries, and then on May 15th your shiny ARC copy of 100 Days of Sunlight should magically appear in your inbox.

Don’t want to be an ARC reader?

If reviewing books just isn’t your thing, or this season of your life is just WAY TOO BUSY, no worries! I totally understand. You can wait until the book comes out. hehe) But whether or not you’re requesting to ARC read this book, please add it to your TBR pile on GoodReads! It would mean literally the world to me if you shelved it as “Want To Read” and maybe add a little note to your status with a few nice words about why you’re looking forward to reading the book!

If you have ANY questions at all about becoming an ARC reader, or if you have any troubles with NetGalley, don’t hesitate to ask. You can comment on this post or you can hit me up at [email protected] and I’ll answer any questions you have.

ALRIGHT, LAST PIECE OF EXCITING NEWS:

THE BLOG TOUR

Yes, 100 Days of Sunlight is going on tour!! Blog tour, that is. Which is pretty much just like a book tour but instead of hopping around to various bookstores, I’ll be hopping around to various blogs and doing interviews, guest posts, giveaways, and all kinds of other fun stuff! The blog tour will run THE WHOLE MONTH OF AUGUST. So if you’re thinking of ARC-reading this book, you’ll have plenty of time to read and write a review, if you’d like to include it in your post for the blog tour!

UPDATE 5/31/19: The blog tour entry is now CLOSED. Thank you to everyone who has signed up! I’ll see your smiling faces on tour in August! Yay!!

For the sake of your valuable time, I put together quick and easy survey that will get you on the team for the blog tour. I can’t wait to get this party started and I really hope you’ll join us for it!! Click the link below:

If you don’t want to be a part of the blog tour, no worries! I totally understand. But, not gonna lie, I WOULD LOVE IT IF YOU DO PARTICIPATE. Like I said in my last post, I’m a debut indie author, which means I need all the love and support I can get when it comes to getting the word out about my book. So if you take part in this blog tour, I would so appreciate it! But if you schedule doesn’t allow it, I totally get that and I LOVE YOU ANYWAY JUST FOR BEING HERE and for wanting to read my book when it comes out. That means literally the world to me.

That’s all for now!

Don’t forget to pre-order the ebook! Or, if you would rather wait and get a paperback/hardcover copy of the book, just add it on GoodReads for now — and mark your calendars for AUGUST 7TH!!

If you want to be an ARC reader for 100 Days of Sunlight, request to read it here!

Last but not least, THANK YOU so so much for being here and supporting me as I publish my very first book!! I love and appreciate you so much.

Rock on,
Abbie
